No Glass Ceiling for the 7 Ladies of SMX Social Media

There is nothing quite like the power of a woman’s intuition. And this week, seven women have brought both their intuition and expertise to SMX Social Media in New York City. Many of these ladies are familiar within the SEO industry, but now we have the privilege of lending our ear to their Social Media Marketing knowledge.

Let’s face it. The ladies are way prettier than the men in Search and Social Media. But to keep you from walking up to them with sweaty palms and feet in your mouth, I’ve collected a few tidbits that you can use as conversation starters. Let’s get acquainted, shall we?

Rebecca Kelley honed her skills at SEO powerhouse firm SEOmoz, where she is gaining prominence as an expert on linkbaiting. This makes her an ideal panelist for SMX Social Media, as linkbait tends to go viral on social media sites.

Tamar Weinberg is a blogging and social media specialist at RustyBrick, Inc. Tamar shares her knowledge at Search Engine Roundtable, Lifehacker, and in her own social media blog Techipedia. For this conference, she’s been tapped to divulge her know-how about social news sites such as Digg and Reddit.

Cindy Krum is a Senior Online Analyst at Blue Moon Works, Inc. When she’s not rocking out creative online and mobile marketing strategies, Cindy can be seen hitting the trade show circuit. You should really check out her work on the Blue Moon corporate blog as well. This week, Cindy is going to teach us how to network appropriately in the social atmosphere.

Helen M. Overland is the Director of Search Engine Marketing at non-linear creations (yes, it’s officially all lower caps) in Ottawa, Canada. With a wealth of knowledge in bringing wealth to Fortune 500 companies, you’d be crazy not to hang on her every word! Helen contributes to non-linear’s corporate blog and AIMS Canada, which you should subscribe to ASAP!

Sarah Hofstetter is all about results and I bet her clients at 360i love that! As the Vice President of Emerging Media and Client Strategy, she’s a pro at utilizing search and social media to funnel viral marketing campaigns for companies. Find out just how awesome Sarah is on her LinkedIn profile.

Liana Evans is the Director of Internet Marketing at KeyRelevance and the owner of popular SEM blog Search Marketing Gurus. Earlier this year, she single-handedly elevated the profiles of many women within the industry with her series “Women in Internet Marketing”. She is truly a pioneer for women in search marketing and social media.

Lise Broer, also known as “Durova,” is a Wikipedia administrator. Now, I know some of you are not thrilled with Wikipedia getting at the top of 99.99999% of the Google results, but please do not take this out on Lise, ok? If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Take advantage of the opportunity to find out how to leverage Wikipedia to work for you. Oh, and don’t forget to read Durova’s posts in the Let’s Get Social column at Search Engine Land.

Ok, AIMCLEAR readers: your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to meet each of the 7 ladies and report back with your encounters. Oh, and this message will not self-destruct, so leave your reports in the comments, alright?
